Funk

No hiding it. I've been in a funk.
I was in a really good rhythm of going to the gym, running and doing weights until (1) the migraines and thunderstorms started, (2) really bad period, and (3) a general malaise set in.

I didn't have anything planned for today, but then my friend, Audrey, asked if I wanted to go with her to Sports Authority to look for new running shoes (she has an extensive process).  Sure!

When we got there, she immediately saw this, and I knew it was something I just had to have... as a reminder for all of the bad days to come:

Funks come and go, so if you can fight your way through it, it'll be the next "high" be even better than before.

Funks are the worst - the excuses become easier and easier! Love the shirt and hopefully that is the motivation to get you started again!

David: from your lips to the elliptical. I've had legitimate funks that kept me out of the gym for months (i.e. injuries) but never just this desire to go being undermined by my body :(

I've been really good about going to the gym when I can go, and not letting the excuses get in the way. I'm learning to put my heath and well-being before socializing and/or socializing with people at the gym (who are coincidentally also my friends). But it's hard for me to rev back up after my body has said "no" for a few days in a row.

Love the t-shirt!! I think sometimes we need to indulge the funk - not for too long though, maybe just doing something gentle like a walk in the park is all you need to see how cool the world and life is again!

Andrea:

I did exactly that! I feel better (and met my calorie target, step target)!

Huh. It seems we're ALL in a funk! Must be the nasty summer heat. It's killing me. I still went to the Y today, though.

P.S. LOVE the shirt!

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the super saucy face I'm making... too sexy for the blogosphere, perhaps?

Love the tshirt! I hear you on the funk, me too! I am hoping that I will be able to move on tomorrow...I am thinking a trip to the gym or a jog plus a super long walk for my puppy. Hope your funk doesnt last too long... need to start to finish!

I need a puppy. I really do. Maybe I'll go to the farmer's market and then volunteer with doggies. They love participating in the "Run with the Fat Girl" program.
